I came back early from maternity leave just to make sure I got pictures of the Dock family this year. They've been long time supporters and I appreciate their enthusiasm and belief in my work!
This year, they thought it would be fun to do photos with Granny and Poppa, since they've been such a big part of this family's life. So off to Fairwinds we went to make sure we had the honored guests in our photo shoot. This is where the night became a comedy of errors!
First, a miscommunication meant I was late (face palm). Then, the oldest daughter wasn't able to make it (and she was leaving for college within days).
We decided to make the best of it and get our multigenerational photos while we could.
This is Granny's super special, secret handshake!
We had just moved on to the littles, when a clicking noise started, and before we knew it, the sprinklers were spraying us all down. Save the camera! Save the grandparents!

Fortunately we all have a great sense of humor, so we gave up and rescheduled for the next night.
All members of the family accounted for, no sprinklers, and we're good to go!

Don't you just love the bright colors? "Easter egg" colors as the Docks referred to themselves.

We may have started out a little rough, but what better way to capture a moment, a memory, than two nights of photos and grandparents!
